Applied AI · Beginner Level 🟢

Session 8 — Create with AI: your creative studio

by Yann Isola · you are no longer a spectator, you become an artistic director 🎨

Use AI ≠ create with AI

In session 5, you saw that the AI can draw, compose, write. Today we are changing roles: AI becomes your studio — but the artist is You .

🙂 Use

  • I ask, I take what comes out
  • Only one attempt
  • AI decides the outcome
  • “It’s nice” or “it’s a failure”

🎨 Create with

  • I give a direction
  • I iterate several times
  • I make choice volunteers
  • I keep, I throw away, I start again
The studio rule: AI proposes, humans dispose. Your value is taste , there direction and the sorting . 🟢

The 4-stroke loop: I-P-C-I

Creating with AI means looping until the result suits you.

1 Idea
What I mean
2 Prompt
My specific order
3 Critical
What is missing?
4 Iteration
I restart, improved

Concrete example 🟢

Idea : a poster for the school concert.
Prompt: “concert poster, retro 80s style, pink and blue neon, stylized guitar”.
Critical : too busy, the title is unreadable.
Iteration: “…darker background, leaves room at the top for the title.” → better!

Never stop at the first image. The first draft is a draft, not a work.

Writing a creative prompt: the 5 ingredients

A good prompt is like a recipe: you need the right ingredients.

🎯

1. Subject

What is it about? “a fox”

🖌️

2. Style

Watercolor, pixel art, photography…

🌙

3. Atmosphere

Joyful, mysterious, calm…

🔍

4. Details

Colors, decor, light…

⛓️

5. Constraints

Format, what we DO NOT want

🧪 Build your prompt

Your prompt will appear here…

⚠ Who is the author of a work created with AI?

It’s a real social debate — and the law is still changing. Listen to both sides before forming an opinion.

🙋 “It’s the human being the author”

  • He’s the one who has the idea and the direction.
  • He chooses, sorts, retouches: he makes choices.
  • A camera does not make the photo “authorless.”
  • Without its taste, AI would not produce anything precise.

🤖 “It’s not that simple”

  • The AI learned from works by other artists.
  • Two people can get almost the same image.
  • Where does the idea end, where does the machine begin?
  • Many countries do not yet have clear laws.
Volatile content: copyright laws for AI works are evolving. What is true today may change tomorrow.

The 3 rules of creative honesty

Creating with AI is powerful. But with power comes responsibility. 🟢

Rule 1 Say it. When you have used AI, mention it. It's not cheating if you're transparent.
Rule 2 Respect the artists. Do not copy the style of a living artist without quoting him, or to pass yourself off as him.
Rule 3 Check before publishing. An AI image or text may contain errors, distorted faces, false information. Look before you share. ⚠

Mini-project: “the customer’s order”

🎬 Your mission (as a team)

A “client” (another team, or the teacher) gives you a creative order : a poster, a song, a logo, a poem... It's up to you to create it by applying the loop I-P-C-I .

  1. Idea — rephrase the command in your own words.
  2. Prompt — write it with the 5 ingredients.
  3. Critical — the customer gives 1 return.
  4. Iteration — improve, then present (2 min).

🏆 The best project is not the “prettiest” — it’s the one with the best listened to the customer And iterated .

Version without screen: describe the result orally or draw it by hand. The method matters more than the tool. 🟢
